Goal: To enhance the well-being and empowerment of women, children, and marginalized
communities in Nepal through comprehensive policy advocacy, collaborative partnerships, and
evidence-based interventions.
Objectives: Scaling up Advocacy Engagement for Child wellbeing through national and
provincial level dialogues on health, education, resilient and livelihood and child protection
issues.
Key Activities Under AASEP Project
- Review of “It takes Nepal to End Child Marriage Campaign Forum-Federal Level
- National Consultation Workshop on Nutrition- Federal Level
- Policy Dialogue on Women Economic Empowerment (WEE)-Provincial Level
- Scaling up engagement on increasing budget for children- Provincial Level
- Provincial Policy Dialogue on Inclusive and Quality Education
- Scaling up engagement on increasing budget for children-Provincial Level
Achievements
- As a commitment from representatives from three tiers of government, NPC, PPC, concerned stakeholders, Dhangadhi Declaration was developed and signed, covering the issues in the sector of Women economic empowerment (WEE), need of revision in the WEE guideline initially developed by RUWDUC in coordination with Ministry of Social Development, Sudurpashim Province, and emphasizing the need of capacity building programs etc.
- The Janakpurdham Declaration, considered a significant achievement of the Roundtable Dialogue on Nutrition in Madhesh Province, was signed by all participants. The declaration commits to ending malnutrition, ensuring completely safe motherhood, achieving full immunization, and transforming the province into a nutrition-friendly province.
- Development of Position paper on Inclusive and Quality Education (IQE) in Sudurpaschim Province with field validation
- Detailed Local level Manual for Budget for Children Analysis (BfC) was developed as a part of this project
- Through thorough discussions and direct participation of children, issues related to women’s economic empowerment, nutrition, inclusive and quality education, budget for children, and child marriage were identified and specific solutions were discussed.
