Under the Girls Empowerment Project, supported by the Population Connection USA, and implemented by the Rural Women’s Development and Unity Centre (RUWDUC), a successful one-day awareness session on mental health and emotional well-being was facilitated by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). Prakash Chandra Bhatta.
This awareness program was conducted in response to the alarming rise in suicide cases in Dadeldhura District, where four cases were reported within just one month. These incidents created deep concern among school authorities, teachers, and parents. Following these events, the school principal formally requested RUWDUC to conduct a mental health awareness session to support students, teachers, and guardians in understanding and addressing mental health challenges among adolescents. So, this session focused on stress management, self-awareness and resilience among adolescent’s students.
