Under the Girls Empowerment Project supported by the Population Connection USA, and implemented by the Rural Women’s Development and Unity Centre (RUWDUC), a comprehensive Breast Cancer Awareness Program targeting adolescent girls to promote early awareness and preventive health practices.
The program was designed to address the critical need for early awareness on breast health among adolescent girls. Limited knowledge about breast cancer, its warning signs, and preventive measures often leads to delayed detection and increased health risks later in life. By introducing accurate information at a young age, the session aimed to help participants develop healthy habits, recognize early symptoms, and adopt preventive practices, ultimately contributing to reducing future risks associated with breast cancer.
A key highlight of the program was the hands-on demonstration of Breast Self-Examination (BSE), which enabled participants to gain practical knowledge and confidence in performing the technique correctly.
