The Rural Women’s Development and Unity Center (RUWDUC) was established in April 1995 by a group of women from the Far Western Development Region of Nepal. RUWDUC is registered in the Kathmandu Chief District Officer’s Office under registration number 524/051/52 and with the Social Welfare Council of Nepal. RUWDUC came to life with the belief that appropriate motivation and training to women and youth groups could turn them into important catalysts and facilitators in the development of the communities and the region as a whole. Its programmes therefore target community women and youth, as its members strongly believe that the role of these two important groups have been overlooked, particularly in the development process of the far west.
